Founded 31 July 1897 as the Guernsey Evening Press. Purchased the Guernsey Star in 1951, becoming the Guernsey Evening Press and Star. Absorbed La Gazette Officielle (published since 1791) and The Star (published since 1813), representing over 200 years of unbroken publication.

Guernsey Press is the island's only daily newspaper, written and printed locally for more than 125 years. It is a daily, six-days a week, paid-for title. The Guernsey Evening Press was born on 31 July 1897. In 2009, the paper was shortlisted for the daily newspaper of the year (below 40,000) in the UK Regional Press Awards. —
