Guernsey Sea Farms is one of just two mollusc hatcheries in the UK. For over thirty-five years, it has been supplying disease-free oyster seed. The present hatchery was built by Mark and Penny Dravers in 1983. The business supplies marine organisms for ecotoxicology testing to environmental laboratories in Europe, the USA and Hong Kong. It is the only hatchery producing triploid seed in the UK, with each batch verified by an in-house flow cytometer. —
