Story

Idea first proposed in 2018 by Guernsey Community Foundation. Scheme operated from HIC since October 2020 and launched taking referrals in summer 2021. Pilot funded by Guernsey Community Foundation, Public Health Services, and Social Investment Fund. Pilot evaluation published October 2024 confirmed strong endorsement. 2025 was the first fully established year.

Bailiwick Social Prescribing (BSP) is a free charity (CH601) operating under the Health Improvement Commission for Guernsey and Alderney LBG. It connects adults aged 18+ with non-medical community support through link worker sessions, group activities—including Tai Chi/Qi Gong, Wellbeing Art, Singing for Health, and Paint and Create—and nature-based green social prescribing. Based at the Perkins Suite, KGV Playing Fields, Castel. Referrals accepted via GPs, nurses, and charity partners. Established 2021.
