Story

Third vessel in the Flying Christine line. Original purchased in the early 1950s by Reg Blanchford, founder of St John Ambulance in Guernsey, from a converted RAF seaplane tender. Flying Christine I destroyed in a 1963 storm. Flying Christine II launched 1964, responded to over 1,000 incidents. Flying Christine III launched November 1994, named by HRH the Duke of Gloucester.

Flying Christine III is Guernsey's purpose-built marine ambulance, operated by St John Ambulance and Rescue Service from St Peter Port Harbour. The 45-foot Nelson 45 GRP vessel, built by Seaward Marine in 1994, carries clinical paramedics, emergency medical technicians, emergency care assistants, and volunteer maritime crew on 24/7 emergency medical response, patient transfers, and inter-island transport across the Bailiwick. Funded through subscriptions, charges, sponsorship, and donations. —
