Aviation on Guernsey began in WW1 with a French anti-submarine seaplane base near Castle Cornet. Civil aviation started 4 October 1919. Airport officially opened 5 May 1939. New terminal operational 19 April 2004.

Guernsey Airport is the island of Guernsey's only airport, set in the parish of Forest and first opened in 1939; the current terminal dates from 2004. Operated by States of Guernsey through Guernsey Ports, it offers scheduled services to UK cities including London Gatwick, Heathrow, City, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Exeter, Edinburgh, and Southampton, as well as Jersey, Alderney, Dublin, and Paris CDG.
