Story

Named after Rev. Peter T. Mignot of Alderney (1863-1935) CBE, who founded the island's first hospital on Victoria Street in 1926. Current building replaced a 1960s temporary structure. Phase 1 (ward complex) completed May 2007 and inaugurated by The Princess Royal. Phase 2 (intensive care and outpatient) completed 2008. States of Guernsey responsible for Alderney healthcare since 1975.

Le Mignot Memorial Hospital is Alderney's principal healthcare facility and only nursing establishment, providing 24-hour acute, continuing-care, and emergency services. The 22-bed hospital on Route de Crabby, St Anne, offers outpatient clinics, community nursing, radiology, physiotherapy, and visiting specialist clinics. Medical care is delivered by GPs from the Island Medical Centre; nursing staff provide round-the-clock ward and community care. Governed jointly by the States of Guernsey Committee for Health & Social Care and the States of Alderney.
