Princess Elizabeth Hospital provides the Islands with medical treatment and care. It is Guernsey's only acute hospital, opened in 1949 by Princess Elizabeth, with 12 wards and 104 beds. The Medical Specialist Group provides the majority of emergency and elective specialist consultant services for the Bailiwick. The hospital includes an Intensive Care Unit with seven beds. Le Marchant ward is an assessment and rehabilitation ward. —
