Story

Site granted by William the Conqueror to the Abbey of St Martin de Marmoutier in the 1050s. Earliest parts of the building date from the 12th century. Tower and north aisle additions made in the late 15th century. The Rector is still appointed by the Crown.

St Andrew's Church is a medieval Anglican parish church in St Andrew, known traditionally as St André de la Pommeraye. The site was granted by William the Conqueror to the Abbey of St Martin de Marmoutier in the 1050s; the earliest parts of the building date from the 12th century. A listed building in a conservation area, it follows a central and inclusive Anglican tradition and is part of the Deanery of Guernsey, with an associated chapel — the Chapel of Christ the Healer on Rue du Monnaie. —
