Original six bells consecrated 1850; removed by Germans in WWII and four sent to Cherbourg for munitions; recovered and recast by John Taylor & Co in 1953; augmented to 12 bells in 2013. New band of ringers formed May 1979. World record 25,056 changes of Bristol Surprise Maximus rung 25 October 2017.
Alderney Bells is the volunteer bell-ringing band at St Anne's Church in Alderney, operating the Channel Islands' only peal of twelve Taylor bells, augmented to twelve in 2013. The group of approximately 20 ringers was founded in 1979 and holds a world record for changes of Bristol Surprise Maximus, rung in October 2017. The band is affiliated with the Winchester & Portsmouth Guild. —
