Community First Responders is a volunteer emergency first aid scheme run jointly by St John Guernsey LBG and the Emergency Ambulance Service. Trained volunteers respond to priority one 999 calls — including cardiac arrests, chest pains, breathing difficulties, and severe bleeding — to provide life-saving care before ambulances arrive. Alerted by text via the Joint Emergency Services Control Centre, volunteers carry AEDs and response bags and commit approximately 60–80 hours per year. Minimum age is 18. —
