Story

Last operational German naval Signals HQ, running until Liberation Day 9 May 1945. Used Enigma code machines that were being decoded by Bletchley Park. Part of the Atlantic Wall fortification system. The nearby La Collinette Hotel served as the HQ of the German Naval Commander Channel Islands.

German Naval Signals HQ is a WWII bunker complex in St Peter Port that served as the German naval radio communications headquarters during the occupation of the Channel Islands. Managed by Guernsey Museums, the site preserves original Enigma enciphering machines and rooms restored to wartime appearance. Self-guided and group tours are available. —
