Story
Opened in 1966 in an outbuilding on Richard Heaume's parents' farm; Heaume was born in 1944 during the occupation and grew up collecting shells and bullets from a former Luftwaffe firing range on the family farmland; continuously expanded since opening
German Occupation Museum is a privately owned attraction in Forest parish, established in 1966 by Richard Heaume, who grew up collecting wartime relics on the family farm. It documents Guernsey's German occupation (1940–1945) through an extensive collection of artefacts: a recreated occupation-era street, wartime vehicles, an Enigma machine, uniforms, weapons, and personal documents. An on-site tea room is available; admission is cash only. —
