Story

Originally scheduled for 2021, postponed due to COVID-19. Third time Guernsey hosted the Island Games (also 1987 and 2003). Faroe Islands initially chosen to host but pulled out in 2015; Guernsey awarded games in July 2016. NatWest International confirmed in 2020 this would be their last sponsorship of the event (first sponsored 1998).

Guernsey 2023 NatWest International Island Games was the 19th edition of the International Island Games, held 8–14 July 2023. Registered as 2023 Games LBG (charity CH537), the event welcomed 2,194 athletes from 24 islands competing across 14 sports, with Footes Lane, St Peter Port as the main venue. Guernsey topped the medal table with 145 medals. —
