Story

The eastern flank of Clifton Valley was the first land purchase by the National Trust of Guernsey. La Prévôté watchtower is a German observation tower from WWII.

La Prévôté and Clifton Valley is a free coastal headland and wooded valley in St Pierre du Bois, managed by the National Trust of Guernsey. The site includes a WWII German observation tower (known locally as 'the big E'), a two-mile circular walking route, butterfly glades created with Guernsey Conservation Volunteers, cliff paths with seascape views, and a stream-side valley walk rich in wildflowers including bluebells, primroses, and foxgloves. Clifton Valley was the National Trust of Guernsey's first land purchase.
