La Société Guernesiaise is a learned society and conservation charity founded in 1882. It promotes the study and conservation of the Bailiwick's natural history, geology, archaeology, history, and built heritage through 16 specialist sections. The Société manages around 320 vergées (130 acres) across approximately 50 land parcels, including the majority of the island's nature reserves. Active projects include the Bailiwick DolFin Project, Bailiwick Eelgrass Exploration Project (BEEP), and Conservation Herd. It publishes three newsletters annually and an annual Transactions journal, and is headquartered at the Frossard Centre, Candie Gardens, St Peter Port. —
