The Shrine of the Sacred Heart is a volunteer-run organisation that maintains a shrine made of local seashells, located in a bunker at Fort Hommet, Vazon. It features over 30 seashell wall pictures depicting biblical scenes, created by Hubert Le Galloudec. The Shrine Committee, including Ian Blanchard, Chrissie Robert, and Andy Walker, works with Festung Guernsey to open two Fort Hommet bunkers to the public. The shrine opened to the public in summer 2008 after restoration and offers private viewings by arrangement. —
