Story
Football played on Alderney since Victorian times. Only Muratti win in 1920. Island teams amalgamated in 1991 to compete in Guernsey leagues. Name evolved from Aurigny Nomads to Bavaria Nomads to Alderney Nomads (2014-15) to Alderney FC (2016-17). Nomads remains the nickname. Promoted to Priaulx League in 2016-17, currently competing in Jackson League.
Alderney Football Club is a community sports club and registered charity on the island of Alderney, competing in the Jackson League and Muratti Vase inter-island competition. Founded in 1991 through the amalgamation of Alderney's island teams, the club plays home fixtures at Mount Hale Football Ground, The Arsenal. It holds England Football Accreditation, runs adult and youth teams, and is notable as the only UK football club that travels to away fixtures by air. —
