Story

First Guernsey parish to be occupied by German forces (30 June 1940, landing at the Airport). Second smallest parish by area. Notable former residents include Thomas de la Rue (founder of De La Rue plc) and William Le Lacheur (sea captain with Costa Rica links). Old Guernésiais nickname for Forest residents: bourdaons (bumblebees).

Forest Parish is the governing body for Guernsey's Forest parish. Led by two elected Constables and a Douzaine of twelve voluntary members, it administers parochial rates, bornements, building permits, refuse and recycling, dog tax, hedge and stream inspections, and cemetery management. The Douzaine holds office sessions on Tuesdays and two main parish assemblies per year. —
