Story

Traditionally known as St André de la Pommeraye (St Andrew of the Apple Orchard). Once a cider-making centre covered in apple orchards. The parish church dates from the 12th century.

St Andrew's Parish is Guernsey's only landlocked parish, covering 4.4 km² at the island's centre. Administered by a Douzaine and Constables, it handles rates collection, dog licensing, cemetery administration, hedge and stream oversight, and boundary disputes. Notable landmarks include The Little Chapel and the German Underground Hospital. Population: 2,295 (2019 census). —
